Bosworth's Garden Centre is an independent family run Garden Centre with a fantastic reputation for Christmas and Giftware. A member of the GCA, Choice Marketing and the HTA, we strive to offer quality products, fantastic displays and a range of Customer experiences.
The business has Two Garden Centres, Burton Latimer and Elton as well as Landscaping and Nursery operations. Buying and department management is carried out from our Burton Latimer head office.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Gift & Seasonal visual Merchandiser within our Gift and Seasonal departments.
Reporting to the Giftware manager and Owners, you will be responsible for the Gift & Seasonal department displays within the store including Gifts, food and Christmas products across both of our Garden Centre sites.
You'll spend your day leading your team to deliver exceptional creative displays. Your passion and drive will make the most of every sales opportunity.
Due to continued growth, and with exciting developments in the near future, the business is now looking to recruit a new Merchandiser for these departments which account for around 25% of the business turnover.
The candidate will have the following skills:
* Suitable experience working in a Similar Retail environment where display is key to driving sales.
* Experience working in the Gift, Christmas and seasonal sectors, preferably in a Garden Centre environment, but department store or Independent store with a comprehensive and quality offering in these areas will be suitable.
* An ability to create attractive displays with a commercial understanding in Christmas, Gift and Garden Furniture departments.
* An understanding of Fashion and trends, what drives Customers to Purchase and how to utilise great display and products to drive sales.
* An understanding of the Market, both retail and also the Supply.
* A Willingness to travel to Supplier showrooms and trade fairs in the UK and Europe.
* A positive and 'can do' attitude in the workplace.
* An ability to educate and enthuse the rest of the team
The role will involve liaising with our Marketing team to promote Gift and Seasonal products across a range of platforms including Social Media and our online shop which is about to be relaunched. It will be necessary to work with other departments within the business - Catering, Plants and Gardening - to create co-ordinated displays and promotions.
The position will be 'hands on' and will involve, giftware and Christmas, spending time on the shop floor merchandising, selling product. There will also be the need to be involved with ranging, display and stock management at our Second Site near Peterborough.
