Job overview

Toactassubjectmatterexpertonsustainabilityfor the Trust

To be the central place for the sustainability monitoring including procurement, pharmacy, estates and other key areas.

Towork alongside other sustainability leads with the Trust patch to support close working and benchmarking

Toinfluencestakeholderbehaviourandengagementbydrivingforwardcompliancewith environmental legislation, best practice and cutting edge leadership in all aspects of sustainability and working towards Net Zero government targets

Tomanageandbuildrelationshipswithinmulti-disciplinaryteams to support the ongoing implementation of action plan

To develop and implement performance measurement frameworks for Sustainability and SocialValueandgovernanceacrossthe Trust toevaluatetheimpactof the strategy.

Liaisewithandmanageexternalstakeholdersonsustainabilityandsocialvalueinitiatives maintaining effective partnership working.

Be responsible for maintaining communications around sustainabilityandforpreparingbriefingsdraftingBoardpapersas appropriate

Be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the overall approach and ensuring systems andprocessesforsustainabilityareappropriate,fairtransparentandnon-discriminatoryin line with national policy and relevant legislation

Main duties of the job

1. Develop and support the Trust’s sustainability and social value strategy.
2. Act as the main expert and point of contact for sustainability matters.
3. Monitor and report on sustainability performance across departments.
4. Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders to drive best practice and compliance.
5. Analyse data and evaluate the impact of sustainability initiatives.
6. Lead and coordinate projects and activities related to sustainability and social value.
7. Communicate progress through reports, briefings, and presentations.
8. Promote training, education, and awareness on sustainability topics.
9. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, legislation, and information governance.
10. Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all activities

Qualifications

Essential criteria

21. Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline
22. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Desirable criteria

23. Relevant postgraduate or industry-recognised qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

24. NHS Experience
25. Experience of working on the sustainability agenda
26. Experience of project management
27. Experience of policy development and its implementation

Desirable criteria

28. Experience of using project management systems

Knowledge

Essential criteria

29. Excellent written and oral communications skill
30. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
31. Demonstrable knowledge of engagement
