SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Primary)
Location: Pelton
Contract: Full‑time, Term‑Time Only
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Start Date: To begin once funding is approved
Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis within a mainstream primary school in Pelton. This role is part of the school’s SEND provision and involves helping a child who requires additional support with memory, processing and confidence. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to help the pupil stay engaged, organised, and able to fully access learning throughout the school day.
The role will commence once funding has been finalised. As an agency position, the school may review the duration depending on need; however, for the right person, this is expected to be a long‑term placement with potential for continuation.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 capacity
* Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
* Is calm, patient, nurturing and consistent in approach
* Can maintain clear routines to support the pupil’s sense of security
* Uses visuals, repetition and structured strategies confidently
* Is reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team

* Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout lessons and routine activities
* Reinforcing learning using visuals, repetition and tailored prompts
* Helping the pupil stay focused, organised and increasingly independent
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt strategies
* Recording observations and contributing to progress updates when required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
