Place Marketing Assistant

We’re looking for a creative and motivated individual to join our Economy and Culture team as a Place Marketing Assistant, supporting campaigns that put our borough on the map.
Reporting to the Senior Place Marketing Officer and working with the wider team, you’ll help plan and deliver marketing campaigns that reach residents, visitors, businesses, and investors. From crafting engaging social media content to helping grow our online presence you’ll help us tell the story of our borough. You’ll also play a key role in supporting the planning, delivery, and promotion of our exciting Love Basingstoke events programme.
With your eye for detail and positive attitude, you’ll bring fresh ideas and energy to our team. Your creativity and communication skills will help us produce innovative campaigns, while your organisational skills will ensure everything runs smoothly.
What you’ll do
1. Research, create and schedule digital content
2. Monitor social media reach and engagement producing monthly and quarterly analytics reports
3. Assist with the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns
4. Assist the council’s Arts and Culture team with programming council events and booking third party events on council land
What we’re looking for
5. Previous experience in a marketing role or undertaking marketing activities as part of a role and a Level 3 qualification relevant to Marketing (i.e. CIM Foundation or A Levels in Business/Media)
6. Experience of using and creating content for social media in a professional context
7. A good level of IT including experience of using a social media scheduling system and ideally a website Content Management System
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills
The role will combine home, office and on-site events working. Some evening and weekend work will also be required helping to deliver our events programme.
