Haematology, Oncology and Chemotherapy Service Admin Assistant

The Haematology, Oncology and Chemotherapy service is currently looking for administrative assistants.
In this role you will work within the fields of Haematology, Oncology and Acute Haemato‑Oncology, supporting areas such as the Centenary Wing, Chemotherapy Service Supportive Treatment Unit (CSSTU) and Lilford Ward.
Duties include reception, data collection, data entry and general administrative tasks. Main duties are to provide administrative support across all Haematology, Oncology and chemotherapy service areas, contribute to the effective running of the service by focusing on tasks that directly support administration systems and procedures, for example ordering notes for patients due for treatment, filing post‑discharge notes, answering the telephone and using the Trust Medway system to admit and discharge patients.

Person Specification
Education, training and qualifications:
* Good standard of general education, including spoken and written English
* NVQ level 2 in admin or equivalent hospital experience
* Prepared to work towards NVQ level 3 in Business Administration
Knowledge and experience:
* Experience working in a hospital environment
* Ability to overcome communication barriers
* Experience of administrative procedures
* Knowledge and experience within a Haemato‑Oncology setting
* Experience in data collection and analysis
Skills:
* Ability to update patient records both written and computer based
* Ability to deal with queries face to face and on the telephone
* Use of initiative
* Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and other programmes
* Working knowledge of Trust IT systems such as Medway
* Routine concentration for secretarial work
* Level headed under pressure
