Nottinghamshire MIND: Resilience & Stabilisation Recovery Coach.

Are you passionate about empowering people to build resilience, find stability and move forward with confidence?

The Resilience & Stabilisation Programme uses coaching techniques to empower individuals in improving their mental wellbeing. We provide practical support in finding and developing techniques to enable individuals to build positive coping strategies for day-to-day issues and challenges that impact negatively on their mental health. We take a client centred approach and seek to concentrate on the here & now with the aim, where necessary, of enabling & empowering individuals to address more longer standing or deeper-rooted personal challenges. Being a coach within this team you will deliver the service to a wide range of clients in Nottinghamshire, face to face and remotely.

The funding for this service ends 31st March 2026, which is currently under review for continuation. Please read the job specification and if you are interested in joining our team, submit an application along with a cover letter.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Building a positive, trusting & supportive working relationship with Clients.

2. Managing their own caseload & appropriately diarising tasks.

3. Researching & developing coping strategies for Clients & supporting them in their use.

4. To work with people to overcome signs of mental health distress such as anxiety, depression and stress.

5. Empowering & enabling Clients to 'be their own coach' and supporting Clients in positively prioritising care of their own mental health.

6. To maintain a boundaried and professional approach with Clients

7. Liaising with health care professionals involved in the referral process and ongoing support of mutual Clients.

8. Using data systems efficiently with a knowledge of Microsoft software such as teams, outlook, word and excel.

9. Accurately & efficiently manage the administrative process of supporting Clients & recording their progress, outcomes & feedback.

10. Supporting colleagues & working collaboratively to best serve our clients & improve the R&S Programme & all elements of delivery.

11. To keep abreast of local services and to develop a working knowledge of services & support available within the area

12. To ensure service delivery meets organisational values & standards and is compliant with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR)

Experience & Qualifications

1. Experience of using social care skills working face to face with the public, some of whom may present as emotionally upset or angry from time to time.

2. Evidence of providing mental health/wellbeing services within a primary care setting

Knowledge

1. Knowledge of social care and the issues of supporting people with a range of mental health issues, including risk assessment

Skills

1- Ability to motivate people to engage in a 1:1 setting or group.

2- Ability to offer various pathway options and promote client autonomy.

3- Ability to identify and manage risk incidents that involve liaising with multiple services

4- Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative.

5- Ability to manage a caseload of clients and manage your time effectively

6- Ability to liaise and communicate with colleagues, volunteers, external agencies and the public

7- Ability to carry out a range of office tasks (telephone, word processing, taking bookings, report writing, using databases) accurately and without supervision.

8- Ability to promote the concepts of social inclusion, early intervention and recovery and to work within Mind's ethos and Mission Statement.

9- Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, both in terms of hours and role, including occasional evening and weekend working.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £12.75 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
