About the role
Hawke’s Bay Hospital MRI department is looking for qualified MRI MIT (MRI Diagnostic Radiographer) who is keen to join a motivated, innovative and forward-thinking MRI department. The successful candidate will be working in a collegial and supportive environment that will enable them to hone their MRI skills as part of a regional hospital service provider.

The role is based mainly in the MRI department and requires participation in the MRI shift roster. This includes weekend shifts (8am-430pm) and occasional evening (till 8pm) shifts.
About the Team/Service/Location
Currently the department has a 1.5T GE Signa HDxt scanner upgraded to software v.MR30.
By November 2025 we will have installed a second scanner - 1.5T GE Artist v.MR30.
We provide a wide range of scanning services, with a focus on delivering acute and in-patient scans in a fast fast-paced, high acuity clinical environment where timely diagnostics are critical. This includes emergency, paediatric, geriatric, ICU and oncology imaging. We are also planning to commence a Cardiac MRI service in 2026.
The work is rewarding and sometimes challenging where adapting technique offers the ability to apply your skills and knowledge to provide positive outcomes for our patients. Additional training and support will be given if the successful candidate has no previous experience of these imaging techniques.
We are a friendly, dynamic team that is growing and have a proven, successful training programme for MRI MIT trainees and encourage MIT students to spend time with us.
