About the Direct Payment Holder: A 41-year-old woman living in Letchworth, Hertfordshire is looking for a reliable, supportive, and understanding female carer to provide part-time support at home and in the community. She is completely blind, has previously undergone treatment for breast cancer, and requires assistance with daily living tasks, domestic support, and help caring for her son.
Hours, rate and location
* Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire (SG6)
* Hours: 9 hours per week, 2 days per week (days are flexible)
* Rate: £18.92 per hour
* Weekday Support (Wednesdays): 2:30pm – 6:30pm
* Weekend Support: Saturday or Sunday, between 10:00am – 3:00pm
What you would be doing
* School pick-up and safe travel home
* Preparing evening meals for mother and son
* Assisting with daily living and household tasks
* Supporting family life, including helping with childcare routines and drop-offs
* Providing general assistance in the home and with outings
What you would need
* Female Carer (essential)
* Experience of supporting someone who is blind/visually impaired
* Knowledge or experience of working with children
* A reliable driver with own car
* Kind, patient, and able to support in both practical and family-focused ways
Training and checks
* DBS/Checks: Confirmation of DBS check
* Right to Work and references will be needed
* Training offered to complete mandatory training: Safeguarding Adults; Introduction to first aid / Paediatric first aid; Health and Safety / Moving and handling
