The Best Connection is currently recruiting reliable and hardworking Driver's Mates.
This is a physically demanding role, ideal for candidates who enjoy working as part of a team, providing excellent customer service, and working in a fast-paced delivery environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Working alongside an HGV Class 2 Driver to complete daily delivery routes.
* Assisting with the safe loading, securing, and unloading of kitchen products.
* Carrying and manoeuvring heavy and bulky items into customers' properties.
* Checking deliveries against paperwork and reporting any discrepancies.
* Following customer-specific delivery instructions.
* Taking clear photographs as proof of delivery.
* Maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism.
* Supporting with vehicle checks, pallet returns, and end-of-day housekeeping duties.
* Reporting any delivery issues, damages, or customer concerns.
What We're Looking For
* Previous Driver's Mate or delivery experience preferred.
* Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting throughout the day.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused.
* Ability to adapt to different delivery locations and customer requirements.
Pay & Hours
* £13.16 per hour
* Monday to Friday
* Early starts from 04:00 AM
* Start times may vary and will be communicated in advance
* Ongoing work available for the right candidates
Mandatory Induction
Before starting work, all successful candidates must complete a paid induction covering:
* Health & Safety procedures
* Manual handling and safe lifting techniques
* Customer service expectations
* Delivery processes and operational procedures
* Site-specific policies and requirements
Uniform & PPE Requirements
Candidates must arrive for work wearing:
* Plain black T-shirt
* Black work trousers
* Plain black jumper or hoodie (if required)
* Lace-up ankle-length safety boots
* A Hi-Vis vest will be provided.
