We are looking for an experienced Multi‑skilled Engineer with an Electrical bias, to join our friendly Facilities team on a static site. Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (flexible) with one hour lunch break. You will also be required to attend call‑outs on a rota basis.
This covers electrical and mechanical disciplines to provide a reactive and pro‑active maintenance service, as per contractual requirements, but also to assist with other tasks as necessary.
You will be responsible for maintaining the plant and equipment to optimize both reliability and maintainability. You will ensure that all key performance indicators are met and help supervise contractors where required.
You will also need to complete any required log book paperwork and close out jobs on our CAFM system using a handheld device.
You must complete tasks to a high standard and in line with current company policies and procedures and report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment. You will be responsible for ensuring your own work is completed in a safe and diligent manner.
To be successful in this position you must have:
* 17th/18th edition.
* Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
Preferred:
* NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Engineering Maintenance (Multi‑discipline).
You will need to be responsible for yourself and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974). You need to be able to read and understand technical drawings, have good problem‑solving and decision‑making skills and be able to communicate effectively with both colleagues, client staff and any visitors or contractors.
Suitable additional training may be given when needed to meet the requirements of the role.
The job is based at a Police Station therefore enhanced security vetting is required and it is not an immediate start.
