The Focus Foundation is a supported living charity dedicated to empowering Jewish adults with learning disabilities, individuals on the autistic spectrum, and those with physical disabilities. Our mission is to help people live with confidence and dignity as full members of the community.
The Focus Foundation offer a supported living service to people in their own property, which offers personalised care and support to help individuals live as independently as possible. Whether assistance is needed for a few hours a day or full-time care, our skilled team is dedicated to fostering independence and enhancing well-being. We work closely with each individual we support to develop a customised support plan that aligns with their unique needs and aspirations.
About the Role
This role of a Support Worker is to help an individual with a learning disability and autism to live comfortably in their own home and to encourage them to engage and participate in activities within the community. You will be supporting an individual in their own home, where moving and handling and personal care is required.
Hours: 25 hours per week. Part-time. Weekends (evenings and sleep-ins). Evenings (start 6pm into a sleep-in shift, finishing at 9am). Includes some public holidays.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the assessed needs of the person are met by developing their relationships and daily living skills.
* Promote independence and community involvement.
* Provide person-focused care, including personal care to support daily living.
* Work to planned rotas, including sleep-in shifts.
About You
You’ll be a great fit for the role if you:
* Have previous experience working in care (essential - as this role is lone working)
* Are willing to attend team meetings and training where necessary
* Encourage independence and advocate for individuals within their home and in the community
* Promote people’s health and wellbeing
* Support budgeting and managing finances
* Follow a person-focused approach to care
* Are flexible for shift working and sleep-ins as required
* Can provide personal care and moving and handling support
* Can support individuals in their leisure activities
What We Offer
* £12.81 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shift
* 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays per annum.
* Annual leave increases to 27 days per annum after 3 years’ service.
* Eligibility to enrol in NEST pension.
