Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to manage and run our extensive salad bar to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in managing food production and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of culinary techniques, and a commitment to food safety and quality.
Duties
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative salad bar menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
* Train new kitchen staff on preparation techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen policies.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
* Maintain a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration among staff members.
Experience
* Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
* A strong understanding of elevating salad bar items to be extraordinary in both presentation and taste.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising and managing a team.
* Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques and food production processes.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in hospitality.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is highly desirable.
