We are seeking Operations Assistants to join our front of house team, welcoming visitors to our exciting science discovery centre in Cardiff Bay. You'll work across our reception and admissions desk, retail, and exhibition floor, ensuring a friendly, professional, and helpful interaction with everyone who visits. This is a varied and interesting role that combines customer service, operations, and public engagement.

Your Role:
* Front of House: Welcome visitors, answer their questions, and ensure smooth operations from admission to exhibit interaction. You'll be their first point of contact and make an impact as part of their first impression of Techniquest.
* Retail Experience: Assist in the smooth running of our shop, maintaining stock levels, upselling experiences, and keeping everything running seamlessly.
* Exhibition Floor: Facilitate activities, engage with visitors, and share your knowledge about our STEAM exhibits.
This is a varied and dynamic role, perfect for someone who loves engaging with people and thrives in a busy, educational environment. It's also an excellent opportunity for trainee teachers to build valuable communication and public engagement skills in a real-world setting.
What We're Looking For:
* A person with an interest in science and STEAM learning, keen to share this knowledge enthusiastically with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
* Exceptional customer service, ideally with experience gained in visitor experience, front-of-house roles, or educational environments.
* Flexibility: willing to work on a 7-day rota including weekdays, weekends, and some evening events.
* Someone who's interested in learning and proactive in understanding our range of exhibits to communicate them effectively to visitors.
