Overview

Support Worker
Salary: £8,305 per annum
Hours: Part time, term time only (15 hours per week 7am-10am)
Location: King’s Lynn, Norfolk

Role

As a Break support worker you’ll be working hands-on day in day out with the young people living in the children’s home. During the first twelve months you’ll build relationships with the young people in our care and support in our homes. Day to day you may plan and take part in trips and activities and learn new skills to help young people overcome communication difficulties. We celebrate every milestone in our disability services and provide a sense of pride in the support you provide. You’ll be an excellent team player who is warm, caring, calm and resilient to cope with the complex emotional and behavioural needs of the young people we support.


Responsibilities

* Work hands-on with the young people in the children’s home on a day-to-day basis.
* Build relationships with the young people and support them in daily activities and routines.
* Plan and participate in trips and activities; learn skills to aid communication.
* Contribute to a supportive, pride-filled environment that recognises milestones and progress.
* Collaborate effectively as part of a team and maintain a warm, calm, and resilient approach.


Qualifications & Requirements

* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (to be completed within 24 months of starting; fully funded by Break; supported by our training team).
* Full, valid manual driving licence.
* Ability and willingness to work shifts.
* Experience working with young people in care settings is desirable but not required.
