The Union Jack Club is currently looking for a full-time Conference and Banqueting Porter to support event setups, room setups, and general operations, ensuring events run smoothly and meeting rooms are kept clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
Your responsibilities will include setting up tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment, assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining cleanliness, managing equipment, and liaising with other departments such as housekeeping and kitchen staff. The role is crucial for delivering high-quality guest experience during conferences and banquets.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
* Prepare the Conference & Banqueting rooms ready for service, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the correct standard according to business levels as requested.
* Greet guests in a friendly, polite and professional manner and provide a high standard of service at all times in accordance with the Club standards.
* Become fully conversant with all aspects of the Conference and Banqueting areas. This is to include; Conference standards, Function sheet translation, Room set ups, Conference service, Banqueting service and Conference and Banqueting preparation.
* Ensure all equipment and rooms are set-up and prepared to Club standards
The successful Conference and Banqueting Attendant must have the following functional skills, knowledge and experience:
* Professional attitude - be a good team player and organiser
* Use your own initiative and have the ability to work on your own and be self motivated
* Ability to work under pressure
* Must be an effective listener and communicator
* Must have a good level of written and spoken English
* Must have a good knowledge of IT/AV equipment.
