Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Location: Essex (Hybrid Working)
Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 + Benefits

Responsibilities
* Lead the design and specification of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, public health, etc.)
* Manage projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and handover
* Produce and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations
* Attend client meetings and provide expert technical advice
* Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
* Coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, structural, architectural)
* Ensure compliance with relevant UK standards and regulations (CIBSE, Building Regulations, etc.)
* Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions
About You
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in a building services consultancy environment
* Strong knowledge of mechanical design standards and best practices
* Experience using industry software (e.g. Hevacomp, IES, Revit, AutoCAD)
* Ideally working towards or already Chartered (CIBSE/IMechE)
* Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
