About the role Our Raleigh site is recruiting for an OPEX Coordinator to support Continuous Improvement, HSER and Quality across the production department. Working closely with the Production Manager and wider leadership team, you’ll help identify improvement opportunities, coordinate key projects and ensure compliance across site processes. This varied role also provides the opportunity to deputise for the Production Manager, offering great exposure and development within DS Smith. Main Responsibilities will include: Continuous Improvement & Operations Support the Production Manager in identifying and delivering CI opportunities Assist in managing CI projects and cross‑functional teams Deputise for the Production Manager when required HSER Support Coordinate HSER administration and liaise with the Area HSER Manager Review observation cards and ensure actions are completed Support investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses Maintain contractor documentation and ensure compliance Review SSOWs and SOPs for accuracy Quality & Compliance Support the maintenance of the site quality system (ISO9001) Act as a key contact for product and service quality issues Lead or support quality investigations and corrective actions Assist with internal audits and Management Review activities Reporting & Administration Produce reports and assist with administrative tasks for Production and HSER Maintain accurate records across CI, HSER and Quality About You Proactive, organised and comfortable working across different functions, with a natural ability to bring people together to solve problems and deliver results.
