Role Overview
We are seeking highly motivated Specialist Community Public Health Nurses to join our 0-19 Healthy Child Programme in Norfolk on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, implementing planned programmes of care and evaluating care delivered.
* Liaise with other agencies and consult professionals across the community.
* Provide face‑to‑face contacts to support children and young people aged 0-19 and their families.
* Work within a team to assess needs, delegate work, and evaluate outcomes.
* Use knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate packages of care.
* Support families through home visits, digital drop‑in clinics, and video contacts.
* Advise clients on health promotion and disease prevention.
* Link practice with local and national targets and deliver public health programmes based on current priorities and targets.
* Plan evidence‑based health promotion programmes, order resources, compile teaching plans, and evaluate sessions.
* Work as a health link for other agencies and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Support vulnerable or at‑risk children and families, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
* Contribute to local policy development and service design projects.
* Maintain own clinical practice, supervision, and adherence to the NMC code of conduct.
* Contribute to training of student nurses and other disciplines.
* Use digital technology to promote services and support self‑care skills via Just One Number and Just One Norfolk.
* Communicate complex information to families and multidisciplinary teams, modelling effective communication skills.
* Act as first‑line response to complaints, following national and corporate guidelines.
* Demonstrate responsible use of resources and budget awareness.
* Maintain health monitoring equipment to a high standard.
* Adhere to Trust risk assessment, infection control, and information governance policies.
* Participate in clinical audits, supervision, and emergency preparedness processes.
Qualifications
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and maintain professional registration.
* Competent as a non‑medical prescriber.
* Experience in community public health nursing (e.g., health visitor, school nurse).
* Ability to work independently, traveling across Norfolk, with a valid driving licence and own transport.
* Strong knowledge of child and family health promotion, safeguarding, and public health programmes.
* Experience with digital technologies, virtual platforms, and social media health promotion.
