Overview
We wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support children with special educational needs. The successful applicant will need to have a patient, positive and kind attitude, with excellent communication skills and a genuine love of working with children. Working as part of a team, you will need to be calm, flexible, dedicated and able to form positive relationships with staff and children. You will be working with individual pupils and alongside other children in the class to support their learning. Part of this exciting role is that you will be supporting the children during lunchtime. This role involves supporting and meeting the intimate care needs of a pupil alongside delivering provisions set out in pupils’ EHCPs. The successful candidate will receive training from the Inclusion team.
Position details: Monday to Friday – 26 hours 15 minutes per week (term time only plus 2 non pupil days). Working hours: 08:45 – 15:00 with a 15 minute unpaid break and a 45 minute unpaid lunch break. Fixed term contract until 31st August 2026 (with the opportunity to extend). Start date: Immediate. Contract Type: Part-time; Term: Fixed.
Responsibilities
* Support children with special educational needs, including working with individual pupils and within the class to support learning.
* Provide lunchtime supervision and support as required.
* Support intimate care needs of a pupil in line with EHCP provisions.
* Collaborate with the Inclusion team and other staff to deliver specified provisions.
