Alstom is the UK & Ireland’s leading supplier of new trains and train services, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider. Alstom have built, or are building, just under 40% of the UK mainline train fleet; as well as the entire fleets in service with London Underground and Dublin Luas. We provide the widest range of smart solutions in the rail market, from innovative high-speed rolling stock, metros and trams to maintenance, modernisation, infrastructure and signalling.
Purpose of role
1. Drive the execution of project according to contractual requirements and JV partner and customer expectations to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom and JV project management and execution processes,
2. Be accountable for project QCDP with respect to interfaces and risk management.
3. Ensure Alstom and Joint Venture legal and contractual rights are protected
What are my key responsibilities?
4. Be accountable for project QCDP performance and optimise Project Financial performance (Margin & Cash) relating to interfaces and risks between the Joint Venture Partners
5. Be responsible for the project governance relating to interfaces including CCM, Risks and Savings. Define project strategy in line with contract requirements, working with CoD, Partner engineering lead and SSMs / IPTs
6. Lead and coordinate project activities including:
7. Resources management:
8. Define, manage and measure interfaces with WP owners and SSM/IPT leads. Hold people accountable for delivery and transfer of information
9. Escalate when resources available do not match the project needs
10. Ensure all project risks are fully defined, managed and mitigated. Take personal ownership for output results.
11. Team leading, including SSM, metier leads, Project Managers of internal and external partners:
12. Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project/ goals.
13. Engage teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them
14. Synchronize internal and JV partners and arbitrate when necessary
15. Alignment with contractual requirements and arbitration of Q, C, D, P re-baselining and change management at project level
16. Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management
17. Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the business/critical project reviews.
18. Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual
19. Manage external stakeholders’ relationship
20. Support the Project Directors with the customer and partner relationship with respect to train level interfaces
21. Continuously ensuring alignment with customer contractual requirements
22. Ensuring contract management towards customer and JV Partner.

23. Strong experience in a similar position
24. Technical experience and strong knowledge in engineering.
