We’re looking for a hands‑on, proactive Light Vehicle Technician to support the delivery of high‑quality practical training and End Point Assessment (EPA) activity at our Skillnet Daventry centre.

🌟 The Role
You’ll provide outstanding technical support for the EPA process and wider practical training, ensuring vehicles, tools and equipment are safe, clean and fully operational. You will help maintain a high‑quality learning and assessment environment where learners can develop exceptional technical skills.
You’ll also take responsibility for workshop standards, stock control, vehicle prep, and supporting tutors in delivering practical training sessions.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
* Prepare vehicles and equipment for EPAs at the Daventry centre
* Maintain the training fleet — clean, safe, fully functional
* Order and manage vehicle parts, tools and training aids; maintain stock levels
* Support the technical set‑up and smooth running of the EPA process
* Provide technical feedback to learners during practical activity
* Oversee health & safety in the workshop when tutors are not present
* Maintain accurate records, paperwork and compliance documentation
* Uphold safeguarding, equality, confidentiality and data protection standards
* Engage in CPD and continuous improvement activities
✔️ What We’re Looking For
Essential
* Experience in Light Vehicle repair, diagnostics and maintenance
* Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification (IMI/C&G/BTEC)
* GCSE/Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths & English
* Strong communication and admin skills; competent in Microsoft Office
* Well‑organised, able to work independently and as part of a team
* Good problem‑solving abilities and understanding of H&S responsibilities
* Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain
Desirable
* EV knowledge or experience
* MOT testing background
* Body & paint experience
* Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA)
* Teaching qualification (AET/PTLLS/CertEd/PGCE)
* Internal Quality Assurance qualification
