Digital Technologies at Medtronic
Part of the Surgical Robotics operating unit, we integrate surgical robotics, artificial intelligence, and 3D simulation to bring cutting-edge technology into the operating room. As an AI Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in testing, verifying, and validating real-time AI products that assist surgeons during surgical procedures. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and effectiveness of life-saving technologies used worldwide.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of AI, software, hardware engineers, and clinical experts to ensure our systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Responsibilities
* Design and implement automated and manual test strategies for AI-based software systems.
* Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts for validating model performance, software functionality, and system integration.
* Collaborate with AI engineers to understand model behavior and edge cases.
* Identify, document, and track bugs and performance issues.
* Ensure compliance with software quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
* Support the development of internal tools to streamline testing workflows.
* Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
* BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software testing or quality assurance.
* Proficiency in Python and testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, unittest).
* Understanding of software engineering principles and version control (e.g., Git).
* Ability to design and execute tests for performance, reliability, and edge cases.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications include experience with medical device software, risk analysis, safety-critical testing, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, data visualization tools, AI/ML model testing, frameworks like PyTorch, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), containerization tools (e.g., Docker), and real-time systems.
