We are currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of complex infrastructure packages across a live airport environment. This is a contract position, operating inside IR35, working across multiple disciplines including civils, buildings, M&E, and runways.
This is a key role within a high-profile programme requiring strong technical and stakeholder coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning, design, and delivery of engineering packages across civils, buildings, M&E, and airfield pavements and runways
Act as the technical lead on assigned projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and airport-specific operational requirements
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
Review and comment on design documents, method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals
Monitor on-site works to ensure quality, safety, and environmental compliance
Provide input into procurement, contract management, and change control processes
Support commissioning, testing, and handover of completed assets to airport operators
Maintain accurate records and contribute to project reporting and governance
Requirements:
Previous experience working in live airport environments is essential
Strong multi-disciplinary understanding across civil, M&E, and building engineering packages
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate stakeholders in high-pressure, regulated environments
Good understanding of relevant standards (e.g. CAA, ICAO), safety regulations, and operational constraints in airports
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline and professional membership preferred (CEng, IEng, etc.)
