Job Title: Ballast/HGV Driver Reports to: Transport Manager Location: Aberdeen or Glasgow Job Purpose To operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for the safe and efficient transportation of ballast and crane equipment to and from construction sites, depots and client locations (including wind farms). The role requires adherence to safety regulations, vehicle maintenance standards, and delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities Operate HGVs to transport ballast and crane equipment to designated locations. Ensure loads are safely secured and comply with weight regulations. Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance needs. Communicate effectively with site managers, clients, colleagues and management. Adhere to all road safety and transport legislation. Assist with loading and unloading materials when required. Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle. Essential: Hold a clean, current and full driving license Valid HGV Class 1 license Digital Tachograph Card Proven experience in driving HGVs, preferably in wind farms or off-road driving Good understanding of road safety and transport regulations Ability to work to work independently and as part of a team Able to manage time effectively Desirable: Experience transporting ballast or similar materials (include crane equipment) Banksman/Slinger or other relevant certifications Working Conditions Early starts and a minimum of working every second weekend. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Physical activity including loading/unloading and vehicle inspections. Daily Rate is applied for salary (rate dependant on experience)
