We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented, forward thinking and problem solving Civil Engineer to join our collaborative team and help shape the future of land development.
Position Overview
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of land development projects. You will collaborate with architects, planners, construction teams, and municipal agencies to deliver cost-effective, high-quality engineering solutions that align with our design-build process. The ideal candidate has a strong background in site development, permitting, grading, stormwater management, and utility design.
Responsibilities
* Lead or assist in the civil design of residential, commercial, and mixed-use land development projects from concept through construction. Bring new ideas, technologies, and processes forward to improve efficiencies of workflow.
* Prepare site layout, grading plans, drainage, utility plans, and erosion control designs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Coordinate with internal design teams, construction managers, surveyors, and external consultants. Operate GPS, drone, and other devices.
* Conduct site feasibility studies and prepare due diligence reports.
* Prepare and submit permit applications and respond to agency review comments.
* Ensure designs meet project budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
* Participate in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing site visits.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
* Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months
* 3+ years of experience in land development design (residential/commercial)
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required
* Familiarity with local zoning, subdivision, and permitting processes
* Strong understanding of stormwater management practices and modeling tools
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Experience working in a design-build environment is a plus
* Drone License (will train)
* Ability to communicate with all levels of project professionals
