Overview
We are looking to appoint a Level 2 or 3 Social Worker. Promoting wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, with services focused on safety and support for Adults at Risk of abuse and neglect. The Adult Safeguarding Operational Team has responsibility for safeguarding practice within local services and across communities in line with the Joint Multi Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy & Procedure. The fast response work includes ensuring the immediate safety of Adults at Risk. The team interfaces with the Adult Social Care Locality Hubs and maintains a close working relationship with the Safeguarding Adults Board regarding regional, national and local developments pertaining to Policy and Practice.
The Care Act 2014 places Safeguarding Adults on a statutory footing, and we welcome these developments in Kirklees. We are keen to hear about your skills, including the ability to identify Safeguarding Concerns, analyse risk levels, and apply the principle of Making Safeguarding Personal, along with excellent communication and recording skills, defensible decision-making, and the ability to provide timely responses to address immediate safety issues.
Responsibilities
* Identify safeguarding concerns and analyse the level of associated risk, applying Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
* Provide timely responses to address immediate safety issues and contribute to fast response work.
* Work with the Adult Social Care Locality Hubs and maintain a close relationship with the Safeguarding Adults Board around policy and practice developments.
* Support Adults at Risk to make informed choices, remain independent for longer, stay safe, and prevent abuse and neglect through effective management of risk.
* Contribute to delivering high quality Adult Safeguarding Services in Kirklees and support the development of confident, competent practitioners in line with Kirklees Behaviours.
Qualifications and Skills
* Social Work England recognised professional Social Work Qualification and registration with the SWE.
* Full and valid driving licence; ability to use a council vehicle or own car as required.
* Excellent communication, recording, and defensible decision-making skills; ability to provide timely responses.
* Willingness to engage in personal professional development and participate in an induction and ongoing learning.
Working Arrangements
Flexible working arrangements can be considered in line with the needs of service. Travel is an essential part of this role.
