Senior / Principal Engineer
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting a Senior level, or Principal level Engineer to join a specialist engineering organisation with a strong track record in delivering innovative solutions for hazardous and nuclear environments.
As a Senior / Principal Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping projects from pre-concept stage through to delivery, ensuring engineered solutions meet the needs of multiple stakeholders and complex technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Lead pre-concept and concept development for nuclear and hazardous environment projects as a Senior / Principal Engineer.

Collate and manage requirements from multiple stakeholders to develop robust engineered solutions.
*
Oversee equipment design, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aspects, and guide design teams to deliver technical specifications.
*
Support prototype assembly, testing, and validation of equipment in-house or on client sites.
*
Deliver engineering consultancy studies and detailed reports, presenting complex solutions to clients and project teams.
*
Mentor and develop junior engineers while contributing to organisational engineering practices.
Requirements
*
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) with significant experience in the nuclear or hazardous environment sector.
*
Proven track record in decommissioning projects, site operations, safety systems, and waste handling.
*
Experience leading multi-stakeholder projects, capturing requirements, and generating actionable engineering solutions.
*
Strong understanding of detailed design and engineering processes, with familiarity in CAD and relevant engineering software.
*
Excellent communication skills, including presenting complex engineering solutions and report writing.
*
Chartered Engineer status desirable; experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or multi-discipline engineering is advantageous.
