Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician, RME at Amazon. The RME team keeps vital machinery running and supports safe, efficient operations. As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety practices to prevent downtime and keep colleagues safe.
Responsibilities
* Proactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of site equipment
* Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
* Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
* Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
* Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
* Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites
What a day looks like
RME Technicians are based on-site to respond quickly to machinery issues. You’ll perform planned preventative maintenance to keep equipment safe and reliable, respond to breakdowns, investigate and implement solutions promptly, and propose long-term improvements. You’ll work with senior colleagues and liaise with contractors for external expertise, often on a range of shifts to support operations around the clock.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team maintains equipment across Amazon’s fulfilment network. We troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment, ensure regulatory compliance, and pursue opportunities for progression within RME and across Amazon. The focus is on reducing downtime to keep customer orders on schedule, with work that may occur during early or late hours to minimise disruption. The team participates in advanced initiatives like Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.
Basic Qualifications
* Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject
* Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
* Relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
* Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in condition-based monitoring
* Experience working with print and apply machines
* Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
* Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
