As a Production Operative you will be part of a high-performance team both delivering and supporting other functions to meet challenging team and personal goals reporting into the Operations Team Leader. Working 4 on 4 off (days and night shift pattern). On A Shift
Key responsibilities
* Support cheese department with achieving daily KPIs & objectives.
* Competent to operate the cheese vat role.
* Daily production pre-preparation tasks are completed and documented.
* Production according to plan and achieving hour-to-hour performance targets
* Machinery is made available for Pre-Planned Maintenance according to plan.
* Challenges current processes and practices to identify new opportunities
* Completion of daily, weekly and monthly hygiene and GMP routines and documentation.
* Developing self to meet standards.
* A safe workplace and a pleasant working environment.
* Working across teams and departments.
* Monitor and review the process to ensure department KPI's are achieved and that any deviations from standard are recorded and communicated to the Production Team Leader.
* Work closely with maintenance and other members of the team to ensure lost time due to breakdowns is minimized.
* Maintain a safe working environment by raising near misses, environmental and behavioral safety observations.
* Using LEAN tools for problem solving and identifying any CI opportunities.
* Support completion of risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
* Ensure procedures, sampling and testing are performed daily.
* Fill out MDE ensuring relevant information is captured correctly.
* Complete mandatory and job specific training courses so that skills are kept up to date.
Skills & experience
Experience in a similar position preferred, although full training will be given.
In addition you will have the following skills:
* Ability to support a team and make decisions to protect quality and food safety.
* Flexible, having to cover 2 sides of the shift covering holiday/sickness.
* Ability to self-motivate and take accountability for own tasks.
* Ability to work in an organized and methodical manor, following company procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and able to form good working relationships
* Excellent numeracy and literacy
* Excellent attention to detail
