Location: HMP Coldingley, Shaftesbury Rd, Bisley, Woking GU24 9EX
Salary: £36,678.26 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 39 hours per week, Mon-Fri (with on call)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter inc Locksmith to join our team at HMP Coldingley, a category C adult male prison. Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday to create a safe and nurturing environment.
About the Facility
HMP Coldingley operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to ensure smooth functioning. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to safe and efficient operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, families, and the community.
Team Environment
You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to providing a safe environment and making a positive difference.
Responsibilities
* Utilize your skills to contribute to the safety and security of the facility.
* Perform carpentry and locksmith duties as required.
* Maintain safety standards and use power tools and machinery competently.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent.
* Competency in operating power tools and machinery.
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office Word and Excel).
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Up-to-date First Aid at Work Qualification.
* Strong organizational and people skills.
