We are currently seeking a highly skilled Toolmaker to join our team and support our growing demand for complex, high-precision tooling and fixtures. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, modifying, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in our production processes. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering drawings, CNC/manual machining, and close-tolerance measurement techniques to support our exacting production standards. Responsibilities • Manufacture and assemble precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to tight tolerances. • Interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models to determine best machining strategies. • Operate a range of toolroom machinery including manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, EDMs, and surface grinders. • Perform tool maintenance, repairs, and modifications as required by production and engineering teams. • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve tooling issues and improve tooling performance. • Ensure tools meet all functional, dimensional, and cosmetic requirements before release. • Maintain detailed records of work, tool designs, and revisions. • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures. Qualifications • Time-served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or equivalent. • Proven experience as a Toolmaker in a precision manufacturing environment. • Proficiency with both manual and CNC machining techniques. • Strong knowledge of materials and machining processes. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models. • Competency with inspection tools and methods. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
