Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
A leading ground and structural investigation contractor is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their London-based team, taking a key role in the delivery of complex ground engineering projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys a mix of technical input, client engagement, and project management, and is looking to take ownership of schemes from tender through to completion.
The Role
You will act as both a technical lead and project manager, overseeing geotechnical works on a variety of infrastructure and construction projects. Responsibilities will include:
Managing geotechnical projects from feasibility through to delivery
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Overseeing ground investigations, earthworks, and foundation design
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and technical reports
Supporting tendering and commercial activities, including cost control and programme management
Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high safety standards
Requirements
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
5+ years' experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within a contractor or consultancy environment
Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical design
Experience managing projects and liaising directly with clients
Knowledge of UK standards and regulations
Working towards or achieved Chartered status (ICE or equivalent)
