Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Tool Room Location: Southend-on-Sea Salary: up to £40,500 depending on experience Overview Our client, a leading manufacturing business based in Southend-on-Sea, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their Tool Room team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, design, maintenance, and overhaul of tooling, as well as supporting product development and repair projects. Key Responsibilities * Manufacture and design development and production-standard tooling * Overhaul and maintain production-standard tooling * Design and complete product-related repair schemes * Manufacture small-batch proof-of-concept and development parts * Maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with company Health & Safety policies * Ensure adherence to company rules, regulations, and standards * Support apprentices and share technical knowledge within the team * Undertake additional reasonable tasks as required Experience & Skills Required * Proven toolmaking experience is essential * Must be skilled in milling, turning, grinding, and heat treatment processes * A understanding of fabrication and machining practices is essential * Maths and English GCSE (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent would be preferable * Candidates who have completed engineering apprenticeship would have an advantage * Must be able to mentor and assist apprentices or new employees * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential * Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Apply now or contact Julia @ Prime Appointments for more information about this excellent opportunity.
