This specialist setting supports children and young people with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) , significant communication difficulties and a range of physical disabilities and complex needs . As an SEN Teaching Assistant (Health Aide), you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and with their health, personal care and wellbeing needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals, you will help ensure that pupils can safely access learning opportunities throughout the school day. Key responsibilities include: Supporting pupils with severe ASD and complex communication needs Assisting with personal care and mobility requirements where required Supporting pupils with medical and healthcare plans Encouraging communication through a range of strategies and interventions Promoting independence, confidence and social development Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team The successful candidate will have: Experience working with children or young people with SEND, care or healthcare needs A calm, patient and compassionate approach Excellent communication and teamwork skills A willingness to undertake relevant training A commitment to supporting pupils with complex needs This role would suit candidates from education, healthcare, support work, residential care or nursing support backgrounds who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
