About the Role
Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to lead the delivery of dispensary services across both the City and Queens Medical Centre campuses. In this role you will shape pharmacy services to be safe, effective and patient‑centred, drive quality improvements and influence strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and develop large‑scale pharmacy services and influence strategy and operational performance at one of the largest acute teaching trusts in England.
* Drive service transformation through audits, risk management, incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
* Work alongside multidisciplinary teams and pharmacy teams to deliver high‑performing services.
* Inspire and manage a team of Chief and Lead Pharmacy Technicians, support professional development and promote a positive, team‑driven culture.
* Oversee day‑to‑day activities in pharmacy stores, ensuring compliance with legislation and national standards.
* Proactively lead, organise, manage and develop the dispensaries at NUH.
* Contribute to strategy and implement service improvements in safety and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with legislation.
* Ensure all standard operating procedures and risk assessments reflect current practice, governance requirements and are implemented.
* Role model to develop and maintain working environments that encourage teamwork, mutual support and respect.
* Take part in a 7‑day shift rota and bank holiday duties.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven leadership experience managing teams, line‑management responsibilities and service development.
* Experience in risk and performance management, audits, incident reporting and ensuring compliance with medicines legislation.
* Collaborative communicator who can influence, support and build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Organised, adaptable and proactive, able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* Driven by quality and improvement, passionate about providing safe, effective and patient‑centred services.
