Location: Covering Market Drayton, Newport, Wellington, Bridgnorth, Shifnal, and Perton
Reports to: Head of Business Development.
Employment Type: Part-Time (with potential for hours to increase over time)
Hours: Set hours aligned with scheduled community events and cafés; additional hours to cover sickness and holiday where required
Pay: £12.60 per hour, plus mileage
Job Summary:
Home Instead is seeking a compassionate, organized, and proactive individual to coordinate our Community Initiatives to support and deliver a range of community-based activities—including our Memory Cafés—and to represent Home Instead in the local area. This is a part-time role with the potential to grow in hours over time, focused on providing meaningful engagement for individuals living with dementia, memory loss, their carers, and the wider community. The role includes covering scheduled sessions and providing support during periods of staff sickness or annual leave.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and deliver Memory Café sessions and other local initiatives, planning and delivering engaging sessions, fostering a supportive environment, liaising with families and partners, and promoting community involvement.
2. Create a warm, inclusive atmosphere for individuals and carers attending events.
3. Build and maintain relationships with local community groups, charities, and organisations.
4. Promote Home Instead’s person-centered ethos at all events and activities.
5. Plan and lead engaging sessions that support wellbeing and social connection.
6. Provide cover for colleagues during periods of sickness or holiday.
7. Keep accurate records of attendance and gather feedback to support continuous improvement.
8. Attend initial training and participate in ongoing development.
Person Specification:
Essential:
9. A kind, empathetic nature, and passion for supporting older adults.
10. Effective communication and people skills.
11. Ability to travel between locations independently (car driver essential).
12. Organised, dependable, and committed to Home Instead’s values.
13. Willingness to commit to agreed hours and cover responsibilities.
Desirable:
14. Experience in care, community engagement, or activity coordination.
15. Understanding of memory loss or dementia (or willingness to complete training).
