PMLD/CLDD Teaching Assistant

About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) or Complex Learning Disabilities and Difficulties (CLDD)?
We are working with a fantastic special school that provides a nurturing, inclusive, and person-centred environment for children and young people with additional needs. The school is looking for a caring and resilient individual to join their team and make a real difference to students’ lives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Supporting pupils with PMLD/CLDD in all aspects of their learning and development.
* Assisting with personal care and mobility, including moving and handling and hoisting (full training provided if needed).
* Supporting pupils with complex medical needs, including those with epilepsy and dysphagia.
* Using communication aids and sensory resources to engage and motivate pupils.
* Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver individualised education and care plans.

Essential Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with PMLD/CLDD (school, residential, or care setting).
* Understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
* A patient, positive, and compassionate approach.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Desirable CPD and Training (or willingness to undertake):
✅ Moving and Positioning – including Hoisting
✅ Epilepsy Awareness
✅ Dysphagia Training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
