Customer obsessed, high energy and love learning every day? If that sounds like you, earn £370+ per week as a Customer Assistant on our standard 30 hour contract. Your role will be varied working across different shift times, tasks and with different colleagues.
As a Customer Assistant you are required to sell alcohol, therefore you must be 18 or over to work in our store.
There’s no such thing as “normal” in retail, but we’ve tried our best to describe a typical day below.
Shift patterns
* Morning shift: Starting at 5am or 6am with your team, you’ll be getting our award-winning products fully stocked on the shop floor and our delicious bakery products ready for our customers to enjoy by opening time.
* Middle shift: Starting mid-morning or early afternoon, you’ll ensure stores are clean, well presented and products remain fresh while helping customers with queries and working on tills to minimise queues.
* Late shift: From the afternoon, you’ll ensure the customer experience is top class by serving on tills, restocking missing items and preparing the store for the next day.
Responsibilities
* Interacting with customers in a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner
* Ensuring stock loss controls are followed in all areas of the store
* Maintaining store and external cleanliness and hygiene standards
* Following freshness and rotation principles
* Ensuring all waste is managed correctly
* Assisting in the stock count process
Qualifications
* A can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills
* The willingness to go the extra mile for our customers
* To be responsible and reliable
* To enjoy working in a fast-paced, varied environment
* A good team player
* Preferably, previous experience in a customer facing role but this is not essential provided you have the right attitude

* £12.40 per hour rising to £14.10 per hour after 3 years

Salary progression
* Year 1: Basic Rate £12.40; £15.50 (Unsocial Hours); £18.60 (Overtime/Sundays)
* Year 2: Basic Rate £12.80; £16.00 (Unsocial Hours); £19.20 (Overtime/Sundays)
* Year 3: Basic Rate £13.40; £16.75 (Unsocial Hours); £20.10 (Overtime/Sundays)
* Year 4: Basic Rate £14.10; £17.63 (Unsocial Hours); £21.15 (Overtime/Sundays)
