Accounts and Tax Assistant Manager (Accountancy Practice)
Sheridan Maine is pleased to be working with a leading accountancy practice to recruit an Accounts & Tax Assistant Manager for its South Somerset office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced rural accountant with a focus on tax to join a growing team and support senior advisers with a diverse portfolio of rural businesses.
Key responsibilities of the Accounts & Tax Assistant Manager include:
* Lead tax-specific work within the wider rural portfolio, collaborating closely with Senior Rural Advisers and liaising with the Tax Team to ensure effective delivery of services.
* Support Rural Advisers in preparing tax-related reports, accounts, and non-compliance work, helping to streamline workloads and ensure seamless client service.
* Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns and accounts, providing accurate, timely, and tailored advice to rural clients.
* Proactively identify opportunities to add value for clients, offering practical tax solutions and working with specialists within the firm as needed.
* Build strong, long-term client relationships, offering expert guidance across tax and broader accountancy matters.
The successful Accounts & Tax Assistant Manager will have:
* Significant experience in an accountancy practice, ideally with rural clients.
* Strong technical knowledge in accounts and tax, with a proactive, detail-focused approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
* A passion for the rural sector and commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
