Role: Health, Safety and Environment Manager

Salary: up to £65,000 per annum, DOE, £5,500 car allowance, bonus, PHC and 25 days holiday.
Are you a passionate, engaging and proactive Health, Safety and Environmental Professional and a genuine leader? Do you want to influence, develop and improve safety standards, drive cultural and behavioural improvements across a fast-paced manufacturing site? Due to recent and significant upcoming investment, seeking a strong Health, Safety and Environment professional to sit within the senior leadership team, drive safety excellence and manage 3 direct reports. Reporting directly to the Head of HSE with dotted line to the Site Plant Manager.
To facilitate change and be involved in interesting and diverse projects which will improve safety and behaviours at the site therefore having to deal with technical complexity.
Play a key role in upcoming strategic project and the significant investment project programme at site
Supporting the implementation of company Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policy and embedding ISO 45001, ISO 14001and ISO 50001
Risk profiling and Risk management based on site Risk assessments, including for example Fire, Machinery Safety, DSEAR, and Maintenance.
Engage, communicate and be proactive and visible on the shop floor to support the site improvements in Health, Safety and Environment, behaviours, and culture.
Development and implementation of procedures to ensure legal compliance is achieved and maintained in both operations and projects, with heavy involvement with strategy change and growth projects.
Building capabilities through coaching and engagement to drive positive safety culture at all levels on site.
Ensuring that Health and Safety performance indicators and compliance data are tracked with expectations understood and annual strategic plans developed to drive continuous improvement and cultural change and maintaining legal compliance
Determining and prioritising of site key loss opportunities manage HSE and facilities budget and annual capital allocation.
Liaison and management of outsourced services (waste management companies, PPE providers etc) regulatory bodies customers and auditors in respect of management of Safety and Environment.
Work proactively with both internal and external project managers and contractors.
Key member of the site leadership team and regional HSE Team in the UK
Work and support the HR & Training Function and EHW Manager with any occupational health issues.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
Strong manufacturing experience – food, drink, dairy, paper, packaging, bakery, tobacco industry preferred.
