We are committed to creating an environment where every child receives the best possible support and care, and all staff are supported to thrive and excel in safe, supported, and nurturing environments.Our Senior leaders have worked on an improvement plan, and if you are ready to embrace this challenge and play a pivotal role in shaping our journey, we encourage you to apply.We look forward to welcoming individuals who share our vision and drive.About the roleThe London Borough of Havering is looking to recruit Advanced Practitioners to contribute to the delivery of an effective children's social care service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for children and young people, and manage caseloads dependent upon experience, grade of post and complexity of cases, utilising specialist knowledge for appropriate interventions, needs and risk assessments, care planning and child protection investigations.If successful in your application for the role of Advanced Practitioner, London Borough of Havering, you will/will be:
* Directly manage and supervise a small number of qualified and non-social work staff.
* Manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases.
* Support team manager in maintaining and developing high professional standards across the team.
* Have specialist knowledge of an area of social work practice with children and families that can be used across the service. To represent the service in developing key service provision or local strategic initiatives.
* Take responsibility for developing skills, expertise and knowledge for a wide range of practice issues and to provide consultation, coaching and mentoring within the team, including effective case management, purposeful evidence- based interventions, analytical assessments and high quality written work.
* Support team development and recruitment process.
* Recruiting, preparing and assessing prospective adopters.
* Linking and matching approved adopters with children.
* Supporting prospective adopters following the placement of children & up until the point an Adoption Order is granted.
* Preparing reports for adoption panel and court.
* Co-presenting training and events to prospective adopters and professionals
* Assessing non-agency adopters (previously step-parent approvals).
