We're working with a fantastic organisation who are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance department. Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, you'll take the reins of the Purchase and Sales Ledger functions while providing vital support to the wider team.
🧾 What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be a key part of the finance function, so a mix of independence and teamwork is essential. No two days are quite the same, but typical responsibilities will include:

Processing purchase and sales ledgers
*
Preparing and organising payment runs
*
Allocating payments accurately
*
Processing claims payments
*
Credit control
*
General administration duties
*
Handling accounts-related queries
*
Reconciling statements
*
Liaising with other departments via phone and Microsoft Teams
*
Managing the accounts email inbox
*
Filing and other ad hoc tasks
*
Using Excel and general IT systems efficiently
✅ What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you'll be AAT qualified (or working towards it), with a can-do attitude and a keen eye for detail. Here's what else would help you shine:

Sage experience (a bonus, not a dealbreaker!)

Numerate with strong understanding of debits and credits
*
Excellent organisation and communication skills
*
Confident working to deadlines and managing your workload
*
Professional, ethical and a team player
*
Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
