How you will contribute?
1. Supporting site delivery of our people plan and group people strategy on site.
2. A key contributor to the site engagement agenda and activity
3. Drive our local diversity, inclusion and wellbeing agenda.
4. Take responsibility for providing advice and generalist HR support across the contracts.
5. Develop effective on-going relationships at all levels establishing yourself as a credible, respected and valued manager, responding to queries directly and influencing managers to follow a best practice approach.
6. Assist departmental managers on the interpretation of company policies and procedures as well as local agreements.
7. Lead and Develop the People Team which consists of one People Advisor.
8. Support the understanding and actions from statistical breakdowns including analysis of sickness/absence and holidays.
9. Assist in disciplinary / grievance hearings, advising on legislative and company policy and procedures.
10. Support the delivery plan in training and developing managers in people related matters, ensuring processes are followed and legislation is met.
11. Contribute towards the improvement of processes and methods of operating practices within the sites.
12. Assist in the coaching, mentoring and development of the management team.
13. Assist with annual pay review/pay claims.
14. Support recruitment activity ensuring compliance to internal policies and selection of the most suitable candidates
What will you bring?
15. Proven HR experience in similar role.
16. Experience of Managing an Advisory People Team
17. Skilled in providing pragmatic, tailored HR advice.
18. Experience of supporting managers with complex employee relations issues.
19. CIPD Level 5 qualified or qualified by experience.
20. Competent knowledge of UK employment law.
21. Must have excellent organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to manage the day-to-day HR processes effectively.
22. Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a prerequisite.
23. Excellent interpersonal skills.
24. Passionate about developing and supporting colleagues to fulfill their potential.
25. Pragmatic, resilient and a self-starter.
26. Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build relationships quickly.
