⚒️ Women’s First Team Goalkeeper Coach

🏟️ West Ham United Women

📍 Location

·Chadwell Heath Training Ground

·Regular travel to Rush Green & London Stadium

·🏠 Home fixtures at Dagenham & Redbridge Stadium

·✈️ Away fixtures across England in line with the Women’s First Team schedule

·🌍 Occasional overseas training camps


💰 Salary- To be discussed at interview.

⏰ Working Pattern- Full flexibility required in line with Women’s First Team training and match schedules.

⚽ Matchday Requirements

* 🗓️ Fixtures typically played on Saturdays or Sundays
* 🌙 Occasional Friday evening fixtures
* 📅 Midweek matches generally on Wednesdays
* 📺 All fixtures remain subject to broadcast scheduling changes


📝 Recruitment Process & Expected Interview Dates

The selection process is expected to include:

* 🧤 Practical coaching session

🚨 About the Role

West Ham United Women are seeking an elite Women’s First Team Goalkeeper Coach to lead the development and performance of the Club’s First Team goalkeepers within a high-performance Women’s Super League environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, forward-thinking coach capable of operating at the highest level of the women’s game. We are looking for an individual with the experience, leadership and technical expertise to contribute within an elite multidisciplinary environment and help drive continued progression across the First Team and wider goalkeeper pathway.

🧤 Key Responsibilities


🎯 Goalkeeper Coaching & Development

* Lead all planning, delivery and review of First Team goalkeeper coaching
* Design and deliver elite-level goalkeeper sessions aligned to tactical objectives
* Create and manage Individual Development Plans for each goalkeeper
* Integrate goalkeeping into team tactical work, unit practices and set-piece sessions
* 📹 Use video analysis, data and observation to support player progression
* Support the development of the Club’s goalkeeper identity and pathway
* Mentor goalkeepers across the women’s development structure


🏟️ Matchday Responsibilities

* Deliver goalkeeper-specific match preparation and tactical planning
* Lead pre-match warm-ups and readiness preparation
* Provide live and post-match feedback and analysis
* Analyse opposition goalkeepers and set-piece strategies


🤝 Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration

* Work collaboratively across coaching, analysis, medical, sports science, psychology and player care departments
* Support physical preparation, return-to-play planning and load management
* Assist with goalkeeper recruitment and profiling processes


📊 Loan & Pathway Support

* Support alignment across the Professional Game Academy pathway
* Monitor and support loan goalkeepers
* Produce detailed player reports and performance reviews
* Build strong working relationships with loan clubs and pathway staff


✅ Skills & Experience

* Proven experience coaching goalkeepers within elite senior, academy or high-performance football environments
* Strong understanding of the demands of elite women’s football and the Barclays Women’s Super League
* Excellent technical and tactical knowledge of modern goalkeeping
* Experience using performance analysis and data-led coaching methods
* Strong planning, communication and leadership skills
* Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and player welfare


🎓 Qualifications

* UEFA Goalkeeping A Licence (or currently working towards)
* UKAD Intro to Clean Sport certificate
* FootballHER qualification
