Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our sign manufacturing company. This role is responsible for managing production processes, optimizing efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating across departments to deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a background in manufacturing, and a deep understanding of production workflows within the signage industry.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production Management
* Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including fabrication, assembly, and installation coordination
* Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet client deadlines
* Monitor workflow, capacity, and resource allocation to maximize productivity
* Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained and operating efficiently
Team Leadership
* Lead, supervise, and develop production staff, supervisors, and support teams
* Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
* Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and training
Quality Control
* Ensure all products meet company and client quality standards
* Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures
* Address and resolve production issues or defects promptly
Health & Safety Compliance
* Enforce workplace health and safety regulations and best practices
* Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
* Ensure staff are trained in safe equipment operation and procedures
Inventory & Supply Chain
* Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods
* Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials
* Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate cost-effective purchasing
Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to streamline operations and reduce waste
* Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
* Track KPIs and use data to drive operational decisions
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in an operations or production management role in signage or related industry.
* Strong understanding of production processes, materials, and equipment used in sign manufacturing (e.g., CNC machines, large-format printers)
* Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
* Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations
* Proficiency in ERP systems and production management software is a plus
