Night Shift Production Manager
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000
We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager (Nights) to lead our Barnsley site's night shift operations at Fresh-Pak, part of The Compleat Food Group (TCFG). This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven manufacturing leader to take ownership of performance, people development, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced chilled food manufacturing environment.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of shift managers, supervisors, and indirectly all skilled operatives and factory colleagues on nights. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering the site's manufacturing strategy, driving operational excellence, and building a high-performance culture across your teams.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and develop production teams to deliver the plan efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding the right systems, behaviours, and KPIs.
* Ensure food safety, quality, SHE standards, and audit readiness are always met.
* Collaborate with NPD, Process, and wider teams to ensure successful launches and projects.
* Inspire, coach, and develop your team to reach their potential and achieve targets.
Requirements
* Proven leadership experience in a large-scale, fast-paced chilled food manufacturing environment.
* Strong track record of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
* Ability to manage and influence through KPIs, driving improvements in areas such as OEE, waste, and labour efficiency.
* Working knowledge of food safety, SHE legislation, HACCP, and BRC standards.
* Experience of managing retail customer visits.
* Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills.
* IT literacy, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
