Technical Author – Inorganic Chemicals – UK BAT – 32437
Apply to join the Environment Agency’s UK BAT team as a Technical Author, focusing on Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) and the development of Best Available Techniques (BAT) to reduce emissions to air, water and land.
Responsibilities
* Draft BAT Conclusions and leading new UK‑wide environmental standards for LVIC installations.
* Liaise with Technical Working Groups and present final documents suitable for publication.
* Critically analyse technical arguments, data and environmental legislation.
* Write concise, accurate technical documents and manage project milestones.
* Support inclusive incident management objectives and contribute to a collaborative, data‑led process.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of working experience in environmental regulation or the LVIC industry.
* Deep knowledge of the LVIC industry, UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations).
* Strong analytical, technical writing and communication skills.
* Proven project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Capability to work flexibly, adapt to challenges and build consensus in a diverse environment.
