As a Software Engineering Manager, you would play a pivotal role in leading and inspiring an engineering squad, delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. You will foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration, while supporting career growth and wellbeing within your team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and inspire a software engineering squad to consistently deliver high-quality software, balancing delivery with innovation.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and psychological safety within your team.
Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent, providing coaching, mentorship, and structured career development.
Collaborate with Product Managers and senior stakeholders to ensure engineering outcomes align with business and client priorities.
Champion agile delivery, DevOps, secure practices, and team ways of working to maintain high standards across the squad.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in software engineering leadership, with a track record of managing and building high-performing teams.
Strong technical background, capable of guiding and challenging engineers without needing to be hands-on in a specific tech stack.
Experience structuring technical work, managing priorities, and delivering complex projects in a regulated environment.
Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to influence stakeholders and promote alignment across teams.
Ability to foster a friendly, collaborative, and inclusive culture, encouraging team members to challenge, innovate, and continuously improve.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering a starting salary up to £95,000 (DOE) and a remote-first working model.
