About Acre
Acre is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up with a completely new, end‑to‑end management system for mortgages. Our platform eliminates unnecessary admin, pain, and friction from buying a home, covering the entire journey from eligibility to keys, guided by real home buyers and close relationships with brokers, lenders, and insurers.
The Role
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure our home‑buying platform is always available and secure. You will work with the broader team to maintain smooth CI pipelines, keep production stable and performant, and provide deep insight and transparency into our operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the engineering team you will:
* Implement and test non‑functional aspects of the platform such as security, performance, and scaling.
* Support the full software development lifecycle, quickly switching between tasks and collaborating with frontend and backend teams.
* Drive software quality and security benchmarks.
Who You Will Be
* Passionate about software engineering and delivering quality products.
* Curious about new and evolving technologies; enjoy tinkering with systems and networks.
* Experienced in containerisation, orchestration, and infrastructure‑as‑code using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
* A strong advocate for information security principles, especially environment hardening and secure system design.
* Skilled in monitoring and logging for security, reliability, and performance.
* Well‑versed in CI/CD practices and modern software delivery pipelines.
* Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language for automation and tooling.
* Backed by 2+ years of relevant industry experience in DevOps, SRE, cloud infrastructure, or a related field.
What We Offer
* Impact within a high‑growth Fintech start‑up.
* Monthly team social events.
* One week of free accommodation for relocations.
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
* Equity through our EMI option scheme.
* Company laptop and supporting tech.
* Private healthcare and a cash plan.
* Pension contribution matched up to 4%.
* Cycle‑to‑work scheme.
* Breakfast, snacks, and drinks in our vibrant Shoreditch office.
