Are you an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist looking for a role where your work truly changes lives? We are recruiting for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join a specialist therapeutic school setting in Essex, supporting pupils across two sites – primary and secondary.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is driven, compassionate, and excited about using therapeutic practice to help children and young people thrive in education.
About the Role
As the school’s Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a key part in shaping the therapeutic provision and supporting pupils aged 5–16 who have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), neurodiverse profiles, or adverse childhood experiences.
Your work will be embedded into the school day, and you will collaborate closely with teachers, leadership and wider therapy staff to ensure pupils can access learning and build confidence, regulation and independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete assessments and develop individualised therapy plans.
* Deliver both 1:1 and group occupational therapy interventions across primary and secondary age phases.
* Work alongside school staff to embed OT strategies into daily routines and the wider curriculum.
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory processing, fine and gross motor development and functional skill-building.
* Contribute to EHCP processes, reporting and reviews.
What We’re Looking For
* HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
* Experience working with children or young people (school, clinical, NHS, community or private practice experience welcome).
* A proactive and collaborative approach.
* Someone who is passionate about working with children who have experienced barriers in education.
What’s on Offer
* Salary of up to £52,000 depending on experience.
* Full-time permanent role across two supportive and well-established school sites.
* A therapeutic, child-centred environment where your expertise is valued.
* Opportunities for professional development and multi-disciplinary working.
* A flexible start date – either immediately or January 2026.
